You'll need Maven 2.0.x.
You can download it from http://maven.apache.org/

Run 
"mvn package"
from the current directory. Do not include quotes.

You'll get selenium-ide.xpi under the target directory, and you'll be able to install the extension by dropping it into your Firefox.

You can run internal tests of Selenium IDE using JsUnit and Selenium by visiting following URL:
